Challenges and Truss Design Solutions

When the excitement and challenge of a flying trapeze show requires solid and reliable truss support, safety is of vital importance. GF-Truss recently undertook a challenging project to customize and erect a high-strength aluminium truss structure for an 18x5x12.5m flying trapeze show. Not only did this project have to meet specific dimensional and load-bearing requirements, but it also presented unique engineering challenges. Nevertheless, GF-Truss successfully delivered a safe and stable customized truss solution. 

High-Safety Standards for Large-Scale Truss Structures 

One of the key challenges in this project was structural asymmetry. To meet the customer’s requirements, GF-Truss's technical team custom-designed the left truss beam to stand 60 cm higher than the right, ensuring the entire structure remained both balanced and stable. 

To strengthen the support system, GF-Truss upgraded to a heavy-duty 2300×800×10mm steel truss base and added reinforced truss bracing. It had significantly boosted the structure’s overall compressive strength and safety performance. 

In addition, the original design adopted rounded corners. After stress analysis, GF-Truss optimized it to right angle truss connection. This change not only enhances the load bearing capacity, but also improves the durability and stability of the structure.
