Project Challenge:
The Balance of Load-bearing, Safety and Wind Protection
In planning this large-scale outdoor event, we faced challenges beyond just the the structure itself. It was also a comprehensive test of safety, load-bearing capacity, and wind resistance. The customer needed that each truss beam carry 1,400 kg of weight, which included LED displays and sound equipment. This placed extremely high demands on both the materials and the overall structural strength.
Large Accessible Space
To give up to 1,000 people a comfortable and safe experience, we also had to solve a major challenge: how do you build a huge truss structure without any central columns? Normally, truss columns are used to share the load, but they would completely block the audience's view. Our goal was to create an open space where everyone had a perfect view.
The Wind and Rain Challenge
In addition, an 850g heavy rainproof tarpaulin was installed at the roof. When strong winds hit, it would create enormous wind pressure and tension. Balancing the need for high load-bearing capacity while ensuring the structure could withstand heavy winds became the biggest challenge of this project.

GF-Truss’s Solution: Customized Technical Optimization
Faced with these tough challenges, GF-Truss’s technical team did not take a conventional approach. Instead, GF-Truss team provided a customized aluminium truss system based on years of professional experience.
High Strength Aluminium Alloy Truss Design: We use international aluminium alloy T6. This material is known for its superior strength and lightness. It ensures exceptional stability and maintains the structural integrity of the trusses over the 30-metre-long span. This fundamentally eliminates the structural risks associated with column-free spans.
Triangle Top Reinforcement: To make the structure even tougher against wind and heavy loads, we added a triangle top reinforcement. This design works by creating extra support points, which helps spread out the weight and wind pressure from the top. By adding key support points, the structure can stays rock-solid even in harsh weather.
Trial installation and on-site guidance: We provide the service of trial assembly of truss structure before delivery. This rigorous process not only detects and solves potential problems in advance, but also greatly improves the efficiency and accuracy of on-site installation. In addition, we also provide on-site guided installation service. This time, we also sent our specialist to Ethiopia to ensure that the setup is in full compliance with the safety standards.

Finishing this project meant a lot more to us than just a completed truss structure. It proved that we are becoming more sophisticated in custom truss construction. The best moment was when the lights went up and the audience could enjoy the show with a clear, open view. That’s when we knew our craftsmanship had created the perfect stage for an unforgettable event.
