20m Span Outdoor Aluminum Stage Truss System: A Case of the 2026 Thai Rock Fest
GF-Truss Empowering the 2026 Thai Rock Fest with Large-Span Aluminum Stage Truss Solutions
When GF-Truss took the lead as the aluminum stage truss provider for the 2026 Thai Rock Fest, we knew the expectations were high. Our job was to create a massive 20m stage truss system capable of handling tons of heavy lighting and sound gear. We had to deliver total safety while also ensuring the crew could assemble everything without any delays.

The Project Blueprint: 20m Span Aluminum Stage Truss for Rock concert
Looking at the project photos, you can see the massive scale of this outdoor stage roof right away. As ESC Park is such an open space, the structure has to hold its own against some pretty tough wind. At the same time, we had to maintain a full 20m clear view so that the fans did not have any poles blocking their sight of the stage.
For this project, our engineering team moved away from standard bolt configurations, opting instead for our high performance 550*1500mm fork truss. Technically, for a span of this magnitude, the 550*1500mm fork truss offers superior shear strength and significantly faster alignment during the high-pressure setup. This allowed the local crew to lock the main beams into place with surgical precision, ensuring the lattice remained perfectly rigid under the heavy weight of the overhead rigs.

Material Synergy: EN AW-6082 T6 Meets Q235 Steel
The true innovation behind the Thai Rock Fest stage is our hybrid material approach. We built the main stage truss body using our heavy duty 550*1500mm fork truss made from EN AW-6082 T6. This choice was deliberate because the 550*1500mm fork truss offers a perfect mix of light weight and resistance to the humid air. We also chose steel components to add that extra layer of strength and durability. This smart combination means the entire rig stays easy to move around but remains incredibly tough at the load bearing joints where it counts the most.
Specifically we utilized a high precision fork connection system. These fork connectors are forged from high strength Q235 steel. By merging Q235 steel into the aluminum ends we hit a level of joint rigidity that pure aluminum simply cannot match. The steel fork connectors provide the bite and durability needed to handle massive static loads from the lighting rigs and LED walls. This synergy ensured that the twenty meter span remained perfectly straight and stable. We saw zero sag or deflection even under the maximum equipment load.

Advanced Validation: TÜV SÜD Certified Multi-Span and Sustained Load Testing
To guarantee the load capacity of the aluminum truss, we ran a full series of load tests across different lengths, including 10m, 20m, 30m, and even a massive 40m testing. We did not just settle for quick weight tests. Instead, we held each setup under load for a full 30 minute period to see how the structure performed under constant stress.
This approach truly mimics the real world pressure of a headline concert set. We also looked at complex load distributions rather than just center point weight. By using 4 point, 10 point, and 12 point loading patterns, we tested the frame with total loads reaching 12000 kilograms over a 30m span.
The final report from TÜV SÜD confirmed zero visible damage, breakage, or collapse. This hard data gave the Bangkok organizers total confidence. They knew the 20 meter festival rig was working with a massive safety margin. Our stage trusses were fully capable of handling the dynamic forces of a world class rock production without any sign of fatigue. You can watch the full aluminum stage truss load test conducted under TÜV SÜD supervision.
